Trust, safety and booking

Know who is leading your trip—and what you’re agreeing to.

Yunnan In Season is run by the Yunnan-based Zhengfei team. Before you pay, we put the route, price, inclusions, cancellation terms, and key safety information in writing.

The people behind the trip

One lead team, backed by local expertise.

We do not hand a confirmed journey to an unknown guide. The In Season team remains responsible for the route, while local specialists add the knowledge each place requires.

In Season trip leader

On longer journeys, one trip leader stays with the group, coordinates each day, and handles changes along the way.

Local guides and hosts

Rangers, village hosts, conservation workers, makers, and specialist guides join where their knowledge matters most.

Planning and guest support

Before departure, we confirm transport, hotels, guides, language support, meals, access, pace, and weather plans.

Booking promise

Details first. Payment second.

An inquiry is free and does not reserve a place. We check availability and send you a written summary to approve.

What we confirm the same day

Availability, group size, final price, inclusions, meeting point, guides, language support, weather arrangements, and the cancellation deadline.

When payment is due

Day experiences are paid in full once confirmed. Long journeys normally require a 30% deposit, with the balance due 10 days before departure. Your place is confirmed only after we receive payment and issue written confirmation.

Day experience cancellations

Unless your booking summary states a different supplier condition, cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund.

For later cancellations, we deduct any non-refundable costs already committed to guides, transport, venues, meals, permits, or local hosts.

If we cannot run the experience safely, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.

Long journey cancellations

Hotels, vehicles, local guides, permits, and specialist activities may be reserved as soon as the deposit is paid.

If you cancel, we refund the recoverable balance after deducting supplier costs already paid and not returned to us. Less may be recoverable within 10 days of departure.

Your booking summary lists any stricter supplier deadline before payment. If we cancel the journey, we offer a new date or refund the affected payments.

This page is a plain-language pre-booking guide. Your final booking summary and travel contract contain the exact terms for your trip and do not limit rights provided by applicable law.

Safety

Safety comes before the schedule.

Weather, road conditions, rivers, and wildlife can change the plan. We adjust the route when needed rather than push ahead unsafely.

Before travel

We check weather, road access, local permissions, group age and ability, dietary needs, mobility, language, and emergency contacts.

During travel

The trip leader coordinates timing, route changes, local guides, transport, rest, first-aid response, and communication with the group.

Insurance and equipment

The confirmed summary states the travel insurance arranged and any shared binoculars, walking poles, helmets, life jackets, rain gear, or other equipment included.

Wildlife and habitat

Sightings are never guaranteed. We keep distance, follow local rules, avoid feeding or disturbing animals, and do not damage moss, plants, or habitat for photographs.

Health disclosure

Guests should share relevant health, allergy, mobility, and medication information truthfully so the team can assess suitability and plan safely.

Children

A parent or guardian remains responsible for a child throughout the trip. Age guidance is only a starting point; fitness, attention, weather, and the specific route also matter.

Privacy

We collect only what we need.

The inquiry form asks for contact details, dates, group size, ages, interests, language, pace, and optional dietary, mobility, or health notes. We use this information only to answer, plan, assess, and deliver your trip.

Information about health and children is sensitive. Share only what is relevant. After booking, we disclose only what is necessary to the trip leader, relevant local provider, insurer, or emergency service.

We do not sell personal information. We retain it only as long as needed for service, safety, accounting, disputes, or legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it.

To access, correct, or request deletion of your information, contact us through your booking conversation or Ask In Season. We will verify the request before acting.
